The capital of Indiana is Indianapolis, which was established in 1825 with a 1-mile square grid layout. As of 2010, the city includes over 360 square miles. Indianapolis is located in Marion County.

According to the 2010 census, Indianapolis is home to more than 820,000 citizens who have a graduation rate of over 81 percent. The city was home to the 23rd president, Benjamin Harrison, who was elected in 1888. Within the city are many landmarks, including memorials for soldiers, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a children's museum and multiple industries. In 2012, the city hosted the year's NFL Super Bowl.
