Tehran is the capital of Iran and is also the largest city in the Middle East. Over the centuries the capital city of Iran has changed many times, but Tehran has remained the capital since 1795.
With a population of over 14 million, as of 2014, and comprising of more than 265 square miles, Tehran is a bustling metropolis. It is also the most secular, liberal city in Iran, attracting a wide range of people from all over the world.
There are many attractions to see in Tehran, including the Azadi Tower, which was built to commemorate the Persian Empire. Tehran is home to the Crown Jewels Museum, which houses the largest pink diamond in the world.
