What is the capital of New Hampshire?

New Hampshire's capital is Concord, an urban center in Merrimack County that is located near the center of the southern part of the state. Concord has a population, according to the 2010 U.S. Census, of almost 43,000 inhabitants and covers 67.5 square miles.

Concord was incorporated in 1734 as the Town of Rumford. The name "Concord" was chosen after an acrimonious territorial dispute with nearby Bow, in 1765, in an effort to reflect the amity, or "concordance" between the two communities. The city grew throughout the 18th century, but it only became the state capital after the legislature chose it in 1808.
