Regions in New Hampshire include the Great North Woods, White Mountains, Lakes Region, Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region and Monadnock Region. Other regions are Seacoast, Merrimack Valley, the Connecticut River Valley Region and the Golden Triangle, which is a densely populated area in the Merrimack Valley. Some of these regions overlap.

The White Mountains Region is named after a mountain range that covers a quarter of the state. The Lakes Region gets its name from its many lakes, such as Lake Winipesaukee. The Seacoast Region stretches 13 miles along the southeast coast. The Merrimack Valley, which includes major cities, is recommended as a destination for tourist entertainment. The Monadnock Region is a southwestern region named after the isolated Mount Monadnock peak, which is also the main landmark in the area.
