Is cataract surgery for blurry vision absolutely safe?
By Forinfos - 14/04/2025 - 0 comments
Cataract surgery for blurry vision is not absolutely safe. However, complications after cataract surgery are uncommon, and most of these complications can be treated successfully, states Mayo Clinic.
Some complications after cataract surgery are inflammation, infection, bleeding and swelling. Complications such as retinal detachment, glaucoma, secondary cataract and even loss of vision can also occur. The risk of complications after cataract surgery is increased if there is other eye disease or other serious medical disease, states Mayo Clinic. Occasionally, cataract surgery may fail to improve vision if there is another disease of the eye causing blurry vision, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration.
