According to Mayo Clinic, cellulitis is not typically spread from person to person. Cellulitis is an infection of the deep layers of the skin and usually results from exposure to bacteria living on the surface.
According to WebMD, symptoms of cellulitis may include red streaking, swelling, warmth, redness, tenderness and the leaking of yellow or clear fluid. Cellulitis usually appears on areas of damaged skin and areas with poor circulation. Cellulitis requires treatment from a doctor. The most common causes of cellulitis include infections occurring after surgery, injuries that tear skin, skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis and bone infections under the skin.
