To change your Twitter username, log into your Twitter account. Open the account settings. Locate and adjust the username associated with your Twitter account from this screen.
- Open Twitter in your Web browser
Launch any Web browser on your computer. Enter "Twitter.com" into the address bar of your browser, and press the Enter key.
- Provide your login information
Click the Sign in button in the upper-right corner of the web page. Enter your current Twitter username and password, and click the Log in button.
- View your account settings
Find your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the Web page. If you have uploaded a profile picture, it appears as that picture. Click on the icon, and select Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your new username
Next to the Username field, your old username is populated by default. Delete this username. Enter your new username in the blank text box. Changing your username does not affect any of your existing followers. All past and future Tweets, direct messages and replies are now associated with your new username. You may want to inform your followers of the change to avoid confusion.
- Save your account settings
Scroll down to the bottom of the web page. Click the button labeled Save changes.
