What is Chicago style drag racing?

In drag racing, the term "Chicago style" refers to a race in which there are either one or two rounds of races in which all entrants can participate. After these initial rounds, the two fastest cars out of this group run a final race to determine the winner.

Each individual competition using the Chicago-style format may take on its own variations on that theme. Some races may include a race for the runners-up, meaning that more than just the top two finishers in the initial round or rounds will have another chance to race.
