Is the chupacabra real?

Although there have been eyewitness accounts and circumstantial evidence, there have been no credible sightings or proof that the mythological chupacabra is a real creature. The chupacabra is said to prowl the Southwestern United States, Central America and islands in the Caribbean Sea in search of goats and blood.

The exact description of the chupacabra differs depending on the eyewitness account. Reports of a half-dinosaur, half-panther creature with red eyes is common, although some eyewitnesses claim it's an alien-animal hybrid. The creature sighted or caught most often turns out to be a dog, coyote or raccoon with mange fur. Chupacabra translates to "goat sucker" in Spanish.
