How do you clean acrylic tubs?

To clean an acrylic tub, fill the tub with warm water, add 4 squirts of dish liquid, empty the tub after 30 minutes, wipe away the stains using a sponge sprinkled with baking soda, scrub away any fixtures on the tub with a toothbrush, and then rinse. Polish the tub.
- Clear the area, and clean the inside
Put aside all materials from around the bathtub, clean their bottoms, and if a tub mat is present, remove and wash it clean with dish liquid. Fill the tub with warm water, add about 4 squirts of dish liquid, and let the mixture stay in the tub for 30 minutes to loosen stains. Empty the tub, and clean off the residue with a sponge. In circular motions, gently apply baking soda to any serious spots using the sponge, and repeat the process if necessary. Rinse with clean water.
- Wash the outside
Sprinkle baking soda on a sponge, and use it to wipe away the stains along the rim of the tub, and then rinse. Dampen a sponge with a dish liquid solution, wash the outside surface of the tub, and scour around the deposits on the wall and in corners of the bathtub using a toothbrush. For soap scum build-up, spray with an all-purpose cleaner to soften the deposits. Rinse, and then dry with a clean cloth.
- Buff the tub
Apply car polish onto the tub to make it look new and shiny, and prevent water from reaching the acrylic surface.
