Clean aluminum pans by first washing with warm soapy water. Then, remove any discoloration by boiling a water and lemon-juice solution in the pans for seven to 10 minutes. Polish the pans with a steel-wool soap pad, rinse well, and dry thoroughly.
- Remove grease and food particles with warm soapy water
Fill a basin with warm water, and add a little liquid dish detergent. Immerse the pan in the water, and rub with a sponge to remove grease and food. Do not let the pan soak in the water. Rinse, and dry.
- Remove discoloration
Fill the pan with enough water to cover any dull or discolored spots. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice for every quart of water. Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Turn the heat to medium, and continue boiling for seven to 10 minutes. Dump out the hot water.
- Polish the pain with a steel-wool soap pad
Put on a pair of rubber gloves. Wet a steel-wool soap pad with warm water, and rub it in small circles over the pan's surface until the pan is shiny.
- Rinse the pan
Hold the pan under warm running water to remove all soap residue.
- Dry the pan
Dry the pan with a soft dish towel to prevent water spots.
