Clean coins with vinegar by soaking them in a bowl containing both vinegar and salt. You need dirty (oxidized) coins, a nonmetal bowl, 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, water and paper towels.
- Combine the solution
Mix the vinegar and salt in a nonmetallic bowl.
- Soak the coins
Add a few coins to the bowl, and let them soak for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the coins
Rinse the newly cleaned coins in fresh water, and then dry them on paper towels.
- Repeat for all coins
Continue to soak the small batches of coins until they are clean and shiny, the oxidation having been removed by the acidic vinegar.
