To clean a dryer, wipe off the exterior, thoroughly clean out the lint filter, and then wash the interior. This is an easy task that takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
- Gather the necessary materials
Gather all the materials you need for the job. This includes a soft cleaning rag, mild dish soap and water, and a vacuum cleaner.
- Clean the exterior
Wipe down the entire exterior of the machine with a soft cleaning cloth. Do not use any type of abrasive cleaners that may scratch the enamel. Mild dish soap and water is recommended.
- Clean out the lint filter
It is a good practice to clean the lint filter after every use. In addition to completely removing the lint from the filter, it is sometimes necessary to use a vacuum cleaner to remove all lint particles that have built up in the filter area.
- Clean the interior
Wipe down the entire interior drum of the clothes dryer using a rag, mild dish soap and hot water.
- Check around the hose
During seasonal cleaning, check the area around the dryer hose for loose lint or other buildup. Use a vacuum cleaner to completely remove any debris or lint.
