The climate in the rainforest is always humid and hot. Rainfall in the rainforest averages around 8 to 14 feet per year and temperatures average at or above 70 degrees Fahrenheit all year long.
There is a large variety of plants and animals living in a rainforest, and all the plants that live in a rainforest have adapted to be able to live in the extremely hot and wet climate with minimal sunshine. Rainforest animal species include sloths, gorillas, orangutans and spider monkeys.
Rainforests are constantly in danger due to deforestation, human population growth and logging. Rainforests are also threatened by climate change, which causes a shift in rainfall patterns.
