What is the coldest temperature on Jupiter?
By Forinfos - 29/05/2025 - 0 comments
The coldest temperature occurs in the clouds of Jupiter and is approximately minus 145 degrees Celsius, or minus 234 degrees Fahrenheit. Thick red, brown, yellow and white clouds cover the surface of Jupiter.
The coldest region in Jupiter's atmosphere ascends about 50 kilometers, or 30 miles, above the surface. Unlike Earth, the surface of Jupiter is not solid. Gases, such as hydrogen and helium, make up the entire planet, penetrating all the way to the planet's core. Temperatures at the core are about 24,000 degrees Celsius, or 43,000 degrees Fahrenheit, hotter than the sun. Heat from the core warms the frigid gases, preventing Jupiter from freezing into a ball of ice.
