What is the commission for Colorado real estate?

There is nothing in Colorado state law that dictates how real estate commission are charged. Real estate agents have traditionally charged about 6 percent and close an average of two to three transactions a year, reports the Denver Post.
The Denver Post continues that federal antitrust laws prohibit the real estate industry from setting or fixing compensation levels. It is reported that eight out of 10 buyers use traditional real estate brokers and that 10 percent use flat-fee-style services. Critics complain that the flat-fee real estate model has contributed to the "walmartization" of the industry, with lower levels of service for customers and sweatshop conditions for agents.
