Clinical studies report that treatments using cryolipolysis technology, as the CoolSculpting procedure does, can reduce subcutaneous fat at the site being treated, according to the National Institutes of Health. Targeted fat cells may be reduced as much as 25 percent after one treatment. In treated subjects, 85 percent showed improvements.

CoolSculpting treatments can help a person look 20 percent trimmer after two months, reports Women’s Health magazine. This treatment also has a higher patient satisfaction rate than other treatments used for noninvasive lipolysis.

A CoolSculpting treatment involves the use of a cooling applicator applied to a specific area of fat on the body such as the back or stomach. The fat cells beneath the skin are frozen and eventually die, states Women’s Health magazine.
