Does it cost money to have an ExtraCare card?

As of 2015, it does not cost anything to sign up for a CVS ExtraCare rewards card. Customers can enroll in the program at CVS stores or online at CVS.com.

The CVS ExtraCare program offers members a variety of incentives, including earned ExtraCare rewards, personalized coupons and exclusive email discounts. Members earn two percent back in ExtraCare rewards on most purchases made in CVS stores or on CVS.com, and weekly sales offer the opportunity to earn more ExtraCare rewards.

To accrue rewards, a customer can scan his ExtraCare card at checkout or simply provide his phone number. ExtraCare rewards can be redeemed for discounts on most purchases at CVS.com or in stores.
