In its list of side effects, RxList does not list weight gain as a side effect of Crestor. The most common side effects listed are nausea, myalgia and abdominal pain.

Crestor is a drug given to lower cholesterol and aid in reducing heart attack and stroke risk, RxList states. Adverse side effects of Crestor that should be reported immediately include headache, rash, pancreatitis and dizziness. Crestor is an oral medication with a dosage range of 5 milligrams to 40 milligrams. The beginning dose is typically 10 to 20 milligrams once a day, by mouth. The drug is given with or without food.
