Do cub scouts get merit badges?

Cub scouts earn different badges, but they are not the same merit badges that the boy scouts earn. The first badge a cub scout earns is the Bobcat badge. To earn this badge, the cub scout must know a number of things, including the handshake, salute, motto and complete exercises in the workbook.

After a cub scout earns the Bobcat badge, he works towards earning the Wolf badge, Bear badge and the Webelos badge. Each badge has its own specific requirements and achievements. There are also Webelos activity badges that cub scouts earn, including physical skills, outdoor skills and technology skills.
