The Czech crown or koruna is the official currency for the Czech Republic and its capital city of Prague. The koruna is equal to 100 heller, a coin no longer used but still included in the price of merchandise. Prices are rounded off to the nearest crown/koruna.
The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union but does not use the Euro as its currency. Some establishments may accept the Euro, but only the Czech crown is universally accepted. The Czech National Bank provides up-to-date exchange rates for major world currencies including the Euro, U.S. dollar and British pound at the rate given when exchanging cash in bank.
