What is deck baluster spacing?
By Forinfos - 27/02/2025 - 0 comments
Deck baluster spacing is the amount of spacing between the vertical supports on a deck railing. These vertical supports should be spaced close enough to prevent a person from slipping through and getting injured in a fall.
In most areas of the United States, building codes regulate the amount of space between deck balusters. These regulations specify no more than 4 inches of space between each baluster.
Deck balusters also need to withstand pressure. Most regulations specify that each square foot of baluster space on a deck supports at least 50 pounds of pressure for the safety of persons using the deck.
