A dental flipper is an aesthetic device that dental patients wear temporarily as a replacement for a missing tooth. It is a small, fragile, removable denture that is meant to be worn only for a short period of time, usually just until the patient can find a more permanent treatment.

A flipper is the least expensive method of replacing a missing tooth, as of 2015. It is a cost-effective way of correcting the appearance of the teeth while the patient waits to receive a dental bridge or implant. The device is called a "flipper" because it resembles a dolphin's flipper and it is possible to flip it out of place with the tip of the tongue.
