When did the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms stop putting stamps on liquor?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms stopped putting tax stamps on liquor in 1985 as a result of the Deficit Reduction Act of 1984. Additionally, in 1982, several types of federal tax seals were discontinued, and it was believed that, eventually, all types would be discontinued.

Federal tax seals were used on liquor bottles and often gave the dates on which a spirit had been distilled or produced. These tax seals are used to denote the age of a bottle of liquor and, consequently, how much the bottle of liquor is worth. Different colors of stamps denote different types of alcohol.
