Christopher Meloni, the actor who portrayed detective Elliot Stabler on "Law & Order: SVU," left the show in 2011 due to the fact that he and NBC were unable to agree to terms for a new contract. Meloni had played Stabler on the series since its 1999 premier.
Since leaving SVU, Meloni has appeared in episodes of the television shows "True Blood," "Veep" and "Surviving Jack." He has also appeared in movies such as "42" and "Man of Steel." As of 2014, Meloni had roles in four additional films yet to air in theaters: "They Came Together," "A Dame to Kill For," "White Bird in a Blizzard," and "The Diary of a Teenage Girl."
