Garth Brooks and Sandy Mahl met in 1987 while Brooks was a bouncer in a bar at Oklahoma State. The couple divorced because they were having problems with Brooks balancing his career with family life. The divorce led Brooks to suspend his music career from 2001 to 2009. Garth Brooks is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold.
