George Washington did not have children of his own. He married Martha Dandridge Custis in 1759 and became a stepfather to her two remaining children.
Martha had four children with Daniel Parke Custis, her first husband. Two of the children died before her marriage to George Washington. The two still living at the time of the union were John Parke Custis (Jacky), who was born in 1754, and Martha Parke Custis (Patsy), born in 1756. Pasty died in 1773 of violent seizures, and John died of illness in 1781. George Washington was said to be a very devoted stepfather to his stepchildren.
