Did Harriet Tubman have any children?

Harriet Tubman did not have any children with her spouses, but she did adopt a baby girl named Gertie. At the time of the adoption, Tubman was married to her second husband, Nelson Davis. Davis was a Civil War veteran.

Tubman was sold a small piece of land by Senator William H. Seward, located in Auburn, New York, where she and her family lived. Not much is known about the baby that Tubman adopted. The family didn't have much, but their home was a place that welcomed all their family and friends. Tubman gave part of the land that she bought to African Methodist Episcopal Church.
