The men of the Iroquois, also known as Haudenosaunee mostly wore breech cloth, and the women often wore skirts and tunics. Children dressed similarly to their parents.
The men's breech cloth was a small piece of cloth worn between the legs. It was attached at the waist with a belt or another piece of cloth. The men also sometimes wore leggings, which attached at the waist or leather skirts.
Iroquois women sometimes wore ponchos and dresses instead of tunics. Like the men, they sometimes wore breech cloths, but always underneath other clothing. Women also wore leggings that were shorter than men's leggings. Both men and women wore moccasins.
