As of August 2015, it is confirmed that Miles O'Brien is divorced, but there is no information in the public domain about when he got divorced from his wife, Sandy O'Brien. The couple has two children from the marriage: Murrough and Connery O'Brien.

Miles O'Brien is an independent broadcast news journalist and has worked at numerous networks, including WRC-TV, WHDH, PBS and CNN. He specializes in technology, science and aerospace.

Miles shot a documentary called “Over Africa, Flying Low and Slow with the Kenya Wildlife Service” in 2009, along with his then-wife Sandy O'Brien. He met with an accident in 2014 that resulted in the amputation of his left arm.
