Where did the recipe for sloppy Joes originate?

The sloppy Joe sandwich most likely originated in a cafe in Sioux City, Iowa, in the 1930s. The dish began as a loose meat sandwich by a cook named Joe. Loose meat sandwiches were a staple in Iowa, and Joe simply added tomatoes to it.
Another theory of the origin of the sloppy Joe is that it was created at Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Key West, Florida. Some people say that the sloppy Joe was created in Havana, Cuba.
Modern sloppy Joes include ground beef, onions and tomato sauce or ketchup served on a hamburger bun. To season the dish, Worcestershire sauce is often added. Many food companies began to market sloppy Joe sauce cans and seasoning packs in the 1960s.
