Did Seabiscuit win the Triple Crown?

Though considered one of the greatest racehorses in history, Seabiscuit never ran in any of the Triple Crown Races. The race for which Seabiscuit is most remembered is the November 1, 1938 match race in which he emerged victorious over the 1937 Triple Crown winner, War Admiral.
The Triple Crown consists of three races -- the Kentucky Derby, the Belmont Stakes and The Preakness -- Stakes for three-year-old, thoroughbred horses. Though he began his racing career at the age of two, Seabiscuit was considered too lazy by his owner and was consigned to smaller races. Seabiscuit grew out of this state late in his fourth year, but this was too late to participate in the Triple Crown.
