Did Susan Flannery have cancer?

Susan Flannery did have colon cancer, but with quick treatment she was able to survive the illness and is still cancer free, as of 2015. Her character, Stephanie Forrester, also had cancer (lung cancer and brain tumors) on the show "The Bold and the Beautiful," however, the character eventually succumbed to the disease.

The producer of the show approached Flannery about her character being given cancer since he was aware of the actress's previous health condition. When asked for her input on the character by the show production staff, she gave advice from her own experience to keep a sense of humor, which she shared with TV Guide in an interview with the magazine before her character's final episode aired.
