Recreational vehicle, or RV, is a broad term that refers to a number of different types of vehicles used primarily for camping and travel. A motor home is a specific type of recreational vehicle.
A recreational vehicle is either powered by its own motor, or it needs to be towed or carried. Motor homes provide their own power and are categorized as class A, class B or class C. Class A motor homes are the largest and most luxurious. Class B motor homes are also known as camper vans and are the smallest, and class C are in the middle.
Recreational vehicles that need to be towed or carried include travel trailers, folding camping trailers and truck campers.
