What direction do the Pyramids face?

The Egyptian pyramids are all square-based pyramids, having four sides. Thus, they cannot face in one particular direction; their four faces point in four different directions.
Egyptian pyramids are generally oriented to face the four cardinal directions: true north, south, east and west. The entrances of many pyramids are on the north-facing side, such as the Giza pyramids in Egypt. Many pyramids were specifically designed and built to have tips aligned towards the North Star. For instance, the north-south axes of the Great Pyramids at Giza are aligned to within three-sixtieths of a degree of true north-south - a feat unequalled by architects today.
