Is Doctor Oz really a doctor?

Dr. Mehmet Oz is Medical Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. He received his undergraduate degree at Harvard University in 1982 and his MD at the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. In 2001, Dr. Oz earned his professorship at Columbia University's Department of surgery.
Dr. Oz also has a master's degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania's Wharton School, which he obtained at the same time as his MD. As of 2015, he's been the director at the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He has clinical expertise in a wide range of conditions pertaining to the thorax, from mitral valve repair to atrial fibrillation and open heart surgery.
