What does the fall foliage look like in New England?

While New England's fall foliage differs according to the region and time of year, generally the green leaves change to a variety of brilliant colors, including vivid reds, yellows, oranges, purples and gold. The colors are usually at their strongest during the first two weeks of October.

The final two weeks of September are usually when the leaves start changing in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. In Massachusetts, Rhode Island, coastal New Hampshire and southern Maine, colors last into November and start changing later in the season. There are plenty of ways for tourists to view the foliage, including hiking, ferry rides, tramway rides, airplane rides and vineyard tours.
