What downloadable content is available for Skyrim?

Five official add-ons and hundreds of community modifications are available for the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. While the official content add-ons are available for all platforms, only the PC version of the game is compatible with community-created content.

One of the official add-ons, Dawnguard adds a new storyline to the game in which the player can either join the Order of the Dawnguard to hunt down vampires or become a vampire himself. The add-on consists of 12 main quests about the Dawnguard storyline and ten side quests. Another official add-on, Hearthfire allows the player to purchase land build his own home from the ground up.

Community modifications often enhance the visuals of the game and add new items. However, modifications that add new quests or alter gameplay rules are also available. For instance, the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch fixes bugs related to gameplay, item placement, text and non-player characters.
