What is an E-ZPass?

An E-ZPass is an electronic device that automatically pays tolls on toll roads in 15 states. E-ZPass users set up a prepaid account with E-ZPass, and the money is automatically taken from that account when they pass through a toll plaza with their E-ZPass.

The E-ZPass is attached to the inside of a driver's front windshield. The appropriate amount is automatically taken from users' accounts when the antenna at the toll plaza reads the driver's device.

E-ZPass is designed to make traveling on toll roads easier and faster, for both E-ZPass users and other drivers. There are special lanes for E-ZPass users to drive through without having to stop and pay tolls.
