“Ecce Romani†is a Latin phrase that translates into English as “Here are Romans†or “Rome.†It is also the title of a series of textbooks used in teaching Latin and a website that provides Latin to English translation exercises.
The "Ecce Romani" textbooks are used to teach Latin to students in grades seven through 10 and present lessons in the form of vignettes of the daily life of a typical Roman family circa 80 A.D. Each lesson also provides historical data and trivia, such as food a Roman may have eaten or what subjects Romans were taught in school. "Ecce Romani" also makes 50 lessons of translation exercises available on EcceRomaniTranslations.org.
