Does an electric stove need a ventilation hood?
By Forinfos - 20/02/2026 - 0 comments
Ventilation hoods are recommended for both electric and gas stoves as a way to eliminate odors and prevent grease particles from being deposited around the kitchen. Ventilation hoods that move 400 cubic feet of air per minute are recommended for electric stoves.
A hood should be placed 24 to 30 inches above the range and should be as wide as the stovetop. Vents are available as small under-cabinet mounts or large wall mounts that have tall chimneys. Recirculating ventilation hoods are available for kitchens that can't accommodate outside vents, such as those in apartments. These hoods filter out fumes and grease and then send the air back into the kitchen.
