Bismuth has the highest metallic properties of any element in group 15 of the periodic table, as it is the only true metal in the group. Group 15 is also referred to as the nitrogen group or the pnictogen group, which includes nitrogen, phosphorous, arsenic, antimony and ununpentium.
While bismuth is the only true metal, antimony and arsenic are both metalloids, meaning that these elements have some metallic properties.
Group 15 is one of the most diverse group of elements, all of which contain five electrons in the outer shell. With the exception of nitrogen, all of these elements are a solid at room temperature.
