The city of Billings, Mont., lies at an elevation of 3,094 feet above sea level. Billings is in Yellowstone County, and it is surrounded by six mountain ranges.
Billings, Mont., has a rich history that includes Pictograph Caves which are known for the rock paintings and artifacts found inside of them. This city was originally home to the Crow Indians. Explorers Lewis and Clark passed through the area on an expedition, and eventually other people settled there. According to the 2013 census, Billings has a population of over 109,000 people. Some attractions in Billings are the Western Heritage Center and the Yellowstone County Museum.
