What is an ESL language lab?

An ESL language lab is a place where students and other people from abroad go to learn English. ESL stands for English as a Second Language. ESL language labs help people learn English by using reading, writing, listening, discussion, pronunciation skills and comprehension.

ESL language labs have listening quizzes, vocabulary lessons and video conversations that help teach students English. Most ESL language labs focus on teaching academic English by using textbooks and newspapers, since many of the students are pursuing college degrees. There are other ESL language labs that focus on teaching students expressions and vocabulary that is used every day so they can have regular conversations.
