American journalist Lester Holt is Jamiacan on his mother's side, and West African and Scottish on his father's side. His West African roots are specifically a mix of Indian and English.
Lester Holt is known for his work as an anchor on "Weekend Today," "NBC Nightly News" Weekend and Weekday editions, and "Dateline NBC." In a 2007 NBC special, he explored his Jamiacan roots with his mother. In another "Today" show special, he and his co-host Jenna Wolfe returned to Jamaica to celebrate their culture. Holt was born in America and identifies his nationality as American, but continues to share his Jamaican heritage.
