Why do babies pull their hair?
By Forinfos - 23/04/2026 - 0 comments
Babies often pull their hair in order to comfort themselves, according to the Sydney Children's Hospital. Pulling the hair is similar to thumb sucking in that it relaxes some children.
Hair pulling can also be a formed habit. This is especially true if the baby has been pulling their hair from a very early age. As the child becomes a toddler, the habit can become harder to break. If the hair pulling becomes an issue and leads to hair loss or damage to the scalp, parents should seek the help of a doctor to help remedy the issue. It is common for parents to see thumb sucking and hair pulling occur together.
