Many types of holly can grow up to 3 feet per year. Holly is a strong shrub that can grow in many conditions including drought and colder temperatures.
Some holly species, like Nellie R. Stevens hollyand Mary Nell holly, are popular, fast-growing trees that grow to be between 20 and25 feet tall when mature. They are often used as privacy walls between property. Many are available in a number of sizes and the Mary Nell holly grows more slowly than the Nellie R. Stevens variety.
