When do you fertilize Bermuda grass?

Apply fertilizer to Bermuda grass when the lawn turns green, between March and May. Another application is done between June and August. More fertilizer can be added in September if the soil has nutrient deficiencies. Do not apply fertilizer from December and February unless the Bermuda grass has been overseeded.

Bermuda grass is a warm-season turf grass that grows most actively when the weather is warm. This type of grass is the preferred type in the southern United States. Warm-season grasses such as Bermuda grass should not be fertilized during the fall months because it may interfere with the hardening-off process.
