The first aid procedure for chemicals in the eyes, such as bleach, is to immediately flush the eyes with clean, lukewarm water for at least 20 minutes, according to Mayo Clinic. People with bleach in their eyes should use a sink, shower, eyewash station or whatever they have access to.

After flushing the affected eyes with water, the next step is to wash the hands thoroughly with soap and water, explains Mayo Clinic. Then remove contact lenses if applicable. It is important to refrain from rubbing the eyes because that could cause further damage. After flushing the eyes with water, call 911 or emergency services.
