Does Florida counties have expensive taxes compared to other counties?

As of February 2015, local tax rates for Florida counties range from 0 to 1.5 percent. Throughout the country, local tax rates by county can run as high as 7.1 percent. This local tax rate is added to the state's sales tax to arrive at the total state tax.
Ten Florida counties have a local tax rate of 1.5 percent, including Jackson and Madison counties, while 11 counties maintain a rate of 0 percent, including Broward, Marion and Palm Beach.
